This piece was one of my earliest musical compositions, and one of my first explorations into the use of dissonance in a tonal setting. I wanted this short work for solo piano to evoke the image of a sudden storm; it begins softly, but with a sense of restlessness due to the constant triplet pattern in the left hand against regular eight notes in the right, building to a sudden, short climax before quickly dissipating.
